Ada Lovelace: 3 Interesting Facts

Three Fun Facts about Ada Lovelace in preparation for Tuesday’s Ada Lovelace Day:

  1. Ada’s education started early, and at home, with her mother and various tutors. Ada excelled in Mathematics, and eventually wrote what is considered the world’s first computer program for an early computing machine that was actually never built (at least not during her time).
  2. At the age of 12, she studied the anatomy of birds and designed a winged flying machine.
  3. The U.S. Department of Defense named a computer program after her.
