Three interesting facts about Benjamin Franklin:

  1. He was mostly self-taught, with only two years of formal education, and learned through his family’s business and books.
  2. He designed a musical instrument called “glass armonica,” and Mozart, Beethoven and Strauss composed music for it.
  3. He loved swimming, and carried the love from early childhood through adulthood. One of his first inventions was a pair of wooden hand paddles, and later in life he was inducted as a member of the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
