California Gold Rush
As part of a gold-themed week, I created this is a digital painting for my then 8yo. The painting was a supplement to a book he read about the California Gold Rush.
The California Gold Rush began in 1848 when James W. Marshall discovered gold at Sutter’s Mill. Despite initial attempts to keep the discovery a secret, word quickly spread resulting in the influx of hundreds of thousands of people to the site. This had huge economic, political, technological and ethical consequences, not just to California, but to the United States.
