Nicolaus Copernicus: 3 Interesting Facts

After creating Galileo’s 3 Interesting Facts illustration last month, it felt right to follow that up with Copernicus. Here, illustrated, are three interesting facts about this revolutionary scientist.
- Before Copernicus’ HELIOCENTRIC model, most people believed the Earth was the center of the universe, and that it did not move.
- The Catholic Church declared support for heliocentrism as heresy, but Copernicus himself did not get punished. Decades later, Galileo, who supported his theory, would not be so lucky.
- He went to different universities, studying astronomy, mathematics, law, and ancient Greek, among others, but he never earned a degree.
