- The “S” in his name didn’t stand for anything. It was a mistake in his military school records that was never corrected.
- He was very unlucky in business. He tried farming, real estate, rent collection, and even selling firewood, but ended up bankrupt.
- He hated wearing army uniforms. He received demerits for his unkempt uniforms during his days at military preparation school.
